You don't need a certification, a truck, or a free week. You need a day and a willingness to be told where to stand. Most of our work is within an hour of Orange — everything else, we'll teach you on site.
Roles
There's more to a response than swinging a sledge.
Skilled trades
Chainsaw operators, climbers, electricians, carpenters, plumbers, mechanics, heavy-equipment operators. You'll be worth ten of us on the right job.

Drivers
Trucks, trailers, box trucks and anything that tows. Moving supplies in and debris out is half the battle.

Dispatch & intake
Answer calls, log requests, confirm addresses, route crews and follow up. Can be done remotely from anywhere with a laptop.

What to expect
An honest picture of the day.
- Crews stage early. Expect a 7am start and a full Southeast Texas day of heat and humidity.
- You'll be assigned to a crew lead. Nobody works alone and nobody freelances.
- Conditions are rough: mold, nails, standing water, fire ants, no power, limited restrooms.
- We provide PPE, water, tools and a safety briefing before anyone touches a structure.
- Minors are welcome at hubs and on light-duty tasks with a parent or guardian.
- You can leave when you need to. Burning out volunteers helps nobody.
In an active emergency, call 911 first. HELP is a recovery organization, not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, call emergency services before you call us.
